Meeting held with Director (HR) on 24th February:- The President and GS held
meeting with the Director (HR) on 24th instant. The issues discussed are as below.
(i) Wage loss of post 2007 appointees:- it was pointed out that the present proposal will not mitigate the hardships and sufferings of employees due to wage loss. Realistic approach is needed to offset the wage loss caused due to wage revision. The settlement be with the arrears. Director(HR) responded in a positively way.
(ii) Superannuation benefits for D/R staff:- The union pointed out the offer of 2% contribution is too meager and stressed for early settlement.Director(HR) replied that another committee headed by Mrs. Geeta Rao,ED(F) has been formed to review the matter.
(iii) Stagnation of RMs and Group ‘D’ employees:- Director(HR) told that the issue is very difficult. He was told by the union leaders that it is duty of the management to find out method to remove the frustrations on account of stagnation.
(iv) Functioning of circle/Local councils:- Union pointed out that the councils are not functioning and staff grievances are not being redressed. Demonstrations and Dharna take place as management in the field are not alive to the grievances.
(v) Victimisation of employees at Chennai TD:- The circle administration has become vindictive towards NFTE and not meeting the circle union leaders. The innocent staff are being victimized. The BSNL. HQR should consider all
aspects to maintain industrial peace.The Director(HR) patiently heard the views expressed by the unionleaders.
