Marvellous March and thereafter magnificent strike
The marvellous and huge “Parliament March” has taken place on 25th February as per call of theunions and associations associated with the Forum. The employees from different parts of the Countryresponded to the call whole heartedly and thronged the roads of Delhi and joined the “March” demanding
save BSNL. The circles brought the Memorandum, addressed to the prime Minister, signed by lakhsof people hailing from different states and society to appraise the Govt. where the BSNL is placed today.
These were handed over in PMO with expectations that the Govt. will respond before commencingof indefinite strike from 17th March. There is anger and anguish amongst the work force against theowner, Govt./DoT, who is attempting to eat away the BSNL. It is not without solid and cogent reasons
and facts.
The forum of unions/associations long ago submitted charter of demands but the DoT and the TelecomMinister have not responded and are in deep slumber and have even forgotten their own declarations. The present Minister had announced in both houses of the parliament that the BSNL would be granted
relaxations, concessions including refund of spectrum deposits of more than Rs 6700 crores. Nine Monthspassed but even the deposits Rs 6700 crores, have not been refunded to the BSNL. Why so? The workershave fully understood the game plan of Govt. and that’s why they joined the rally in large number in supportof their demands to “Save BSNL- Save nation”. The Govt. has become prisoner of corporate Jagat andbig business houses.
The people have expressed faith and appreciation for the BSNL services and that is why they gladlysigned the memorandum urging the prime Minster to save the BSNL in the interest of people and the nation.
The country as a whole is well aware how the BSNL restored the telecom Services at the time of occurrenceof natural Climate at Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Andaman-Nicobar, Bhuj in Gujarat besides providingrural telephony in rural sector. The people were greatly exploited by private CoS before entering of BSNLin Mobile Arena and after that the charges reduced to a very large extent. Unfortunately much publicized
“Decision making Govt.” is not only forgetting their loud declarations made in the parliament but ignoring
the contribution of BSNL and its employees both. Factually, the Govt. is now acting as “Mauni Baba”.The employees and unions functionaries have gone back to their respective destinations with firmdetermination to organize very effective and magnificant indefinite strike from 17th March if Govt. continuesto sleep in deep slumber. It is “Do or Die” battle for employees.
Dear Comrades! The NFTE has always been in the forefront of struggle to protect the interest of employees.
It has chequered history. Therefore, move on and don’t lag behind with any one and organizestrike to “Save the BSNL- Save Nation”. Take each and every one with you as unity is the only weapon ofthe workers.
